I may need help.

How many planners does one person need, and does it make that person super organised? I suspect the answer is no. So why did I feel compelled to buy another? Two reasons spring to mind:

  1. We are a good way through the year, and without a planner, I cannot possibly plan anything for next year.
  2. The cover has dogs on it.

I am not a plotting, planning sort of a person, but I want to be. Whenever I need to achieve more than is possible, I reach for a planner. As I plan my year, month, week, and day, I’m not deterred by the fact that most reasonable people would immediately identify that I’m trying to fit in too much.

One of the critical skills of a planning type is the ability to plan just enough and not too much. Like most people, I have too much to fit into too little time, and I find it difficult to accept this truth. Knowing that about myself means that I can watch for that tendency and moderate my plans since it can be disheartening to fail to achieve constantly.

Now, I can schedule my dog time and writing time in my shiny new planner. Look at Lily and Luca’s Facebook page to see what we do when I’m not working or writing.
